A lot of you will have noticed, that this place is dead.

I don't really have time or the interest anymore to try and liven it up, think I've been involved for like 9 years! haha.

So who would be interested in taking over? Someone who will actaully do something, get new people involved and that.

If no one is intersted, or feel it's worth it, I'll be taking the site offline, and deleteing it from my server.

Drop me a message or email admin@cyphermusic.net

The server costs about £50 for the year, But I will be keeping this (I host my site on it, and another 3 or 4) and would eventully if someone enjoyed Cypher, got it working and up and running to go halfs on it maybe. I think Ive paid for the server for about 4 or 5 years now.

The software the site is based on is free, and then you just have the hours.

Can you give us an idea of how much is actually involved Hobo?

P.S. I am genuinely sorry that you want to give it up because i think Cypher personally is great as it is and i dont know how much a regime change is gonna progress the site.

It depends what you want to do.

Day to Day, its a case of moderating, adding forum, sorting out broken accounts etc...

There is also the devlopment of adding modification to the base forums, arcade, gallery, etc.... what you fancy (there are modification sites)

Getting new people.

Just a few things, there is a whole Admin section to play with, and use as well.

Needless to say, I will be staying as Admin (On my server after all), but mainly as a slightly person in that sense.

Well im happy to be part of a team of administrators dealing with the day to day issues but i think you should stay as team leader. Does that sound like a better solution? If we work as a team then the work load is spread.

Would you be interested in running the site?

What your proposing is how I got involved about 9 years ago, next thing I knew I had bought a server and was running the site by myself.

I would be interested in running the site but i dont know if i know enough about the actual build of the website to do it by myself.

Where have all the bands gone? when i used to be on this forum and me and eddy sorted Boardfest out in 05, there were loads. Where did they all go? there are a load of bands on the wall at Jam on Top, but i don't think any of them have their own section. Even Random Hand aren't on here anymore, how come?

Thats 5 years ago JP, since then I've got a degree! And moved to Bradford. Most of the bands from that Boardfest have disbanned, and facebook has grown a daft amount! Random Hand don't visit the forum, I think its more a case of not ""hosting" bands forums, they don't use them anymore, they don't need them. Facebook has taken over all of this.

Aye, its good for keeping in touch with people and things, but just destory forums and all over internet esq communities. All I can see is its a case of just to build it up.

If used right, Facebook could help Cypher grow.

It's only a networking site after all.
