With the last Bronx record sounding like the Foo Fighters (to these ears anyway), this is just what the punk rock doctor ordered! Six tracks of straight ahead post hardcore punk, clocking in at about 10 minutes leaving no time for boredom and barely enough to draw breath.

The first thing that strikes you is just how good it sounds, a massive improvement on the band’s earlier recorded sound. The vocals are a huge plus point, reminding you of a younger/better Dexter Holland, when he still had some passion. Passion is certainly something SOS has in abundance, a glance at the lyrics for ‘Bandwagon Hi Jack’ confirms this, whilst “So please explain and show reason for it all. Here’s an open letter addressed to all of those involved” (from ‘Your Name Not Here’) should be nailed to the door of 10 Downing Street.
If I had to pick a stand out track after only a couple of listens, it would be ‘Look at Me’, one minute fifty two seconds of hard melodic punk slightly reminiscent of The Wildhearts. The DIY ethos of this release must be congratulated too, recorded live in the band’s rehearsal room and member’s bedrooms. You can hear the hard graft the band must have put in and this just adds to the overall quality of the music.

To quote the band: “Hey man, let’s hear it, your marks out of ten?” Easily a nine. A fine EP.
